We had the distinct pleasure of meeting artist/designer Ahn Sang Soo the other night. Despite having to leave the next day on a 3 month trip to Europe for exhibitions and lectures, he graciously took time out of his busy schedule to sit down and chat with us. Located near Hongik University, where he teaches, his academic workspace was filled with a grip of books and artwork (we all wish we had some more time just to look through all the cool stuff lining the shelves and walls – peep the 2 photos I snapped on my iPhone above….)
I’ve become fascinated with the Korean Alphabet (which is a truly innovative alphabet system) since I’ve moved here. And I’ve become a fan of Ahn Sang Soo’s work with Korean typography, so getting to meet him was huge. So special thanks to our friend Maia at Chillzine for the introduction!
